Confessions of a Former Superhero in Chicago |
I'm Laura Green. I live in Chicago with my beautiful cats, Diana and Hank. I am a musician (formerly of I Fight Dragons) starting my own solo thang, and I currently geek out over comics, tattoos, mixology (mmmm cocktails), good food and good wine. I'm writing about finding my way after the professional life I created for myself shattered. Do I rebuild? Or do I shift gears and start building something entirely new? This is a blog about overcoming hurt, accepting failure, excavating buried strength and discovering dreams I didn't know I had. |
Anonymous asked: Hey there. I felt really sad when I found out you had left IFD, and even sadder when I found out how you felt afterwards. But nevermind about that. I'm here to tell you not to feel sad about the past. You have lots of talent and potential and you are really pretty (Gingers <3). Just be happy because everything will go well. I wish you the best of luck! With love, Felipe (P.S.: The seasons thing with your album is just brilliant.)
Haha you make me blush! Thank you, I’m so so so much happier now. Take care of yourself :)
Anonymous asked: I see you left I Fight Dragons. If you don't mind, could you tell why? Of course, you don't have to... Thanks.
I didn’t leave by choice. I was asked to leave. I’m not going to say why, though. I’m really trying to put the whole thing behind me. I’ll just say I’m much happier now than I was then.
Anonymous asked: Thank you so very much for your advice at tonight's geek dating panel. I think you guys displayed a wonderful mix of forthrightness and wit for what could have been a pretty weird topic for a comic convention. -- the guy with the pony hat.
OH MY GOODNESS. Of course. Thank you for being a part of it. Did you enjoy the screening?
Anonymous asked: Can I take you out to dinner?
I don’t know who you are! Haha!
leavingsofthewolf asked: So...I just discovered IFD around the end-ish of last year and I was like "Yeah this is pretty awesome!" And then life took hold so I wasn't exactly keeping up with anything. Then I looked back and noticed someone was missing! It mad me sad... So I searched and found your tumblr. So now I'm all like :O because you're working on an album which makes me excited which also makes me really inarticulate, therefore I apologize... BUT! I'm glad you're still in the music biz :3
Thank you! I’m really really happy now. I like my life, have plans for the future. Very content. :)
chrisheard asked: I came across, admittedly while reading IFD based material, and i read through a few pages of your photos and some wonderful songs, but there's that wall of questions nearly all on about the old band. I find it quite sad that even this long after your departure that it still seems to define you to a lot of people. Good luck on your EP though and you can be sure i'll grab myself a copy.
Oh and one request, could you post a photo of your new (it might not be now, the posts here dont have dates) tattoo? for some reason it really intrigued me.
Yes! I will post photos of my tattoos. I think I’m getting more too…soon…
YAY! Thank you to everyone who supported me through making this. Thank you to those who inspired it…no matter how much they hurt me. Mostly, thank you to Matt Ryd for his constant support and awesome production. This would have 100% not happened without him.
Enjoy!
